For us to find be finding thigh deep untracked powder snow on May 18th. Our first lap Wednesday morning felt more like February than May, but given that we had June weather in January this year, I suppose it shakes out.
Knowing the absurdity of powder skiing so close to summer solstice, my pal K and I really savored our turns, giggling and hollering as we descended. It was good enough to warrant a second lap. Which admittedly was a bit less good, thanks to the warming temps. No matter. Still a fantastically memorable way to start the day.
Sadly (for me) it looks like Spring’s gonna stick around this time. Guess it’s time to dig out the shorts, eh?
