…And why I should probably consider taking a day off.
Saturday: 38 mile bike ride with a fair bit of climbing, and more than a few fun descents. We took Armstrong Pass to Luther Pass to Scotts Lake to Big Meadow to the Christmas Valley downhill to home, with nary a Gatorade stop in Meyers. Note: still tons of wildflowers in full bloom can be found, especially around water sources, which is pretty incredible for mid-August!
Sunday: An 18 mile shuttle hike, starting at Meeks Bay, taking the trail up and over Phipps Pass, stopping for a quick swim at Middle Velma Lake, then descending to the car at Eagle Falls. Followed by an entertaining 2 hour derby practice.
Soon to be followed by the sleep of the dead/righteous. Or so I hope.
