Autumn’s Arrived

This I know because my early morning bike ride to the pool and then onto the office now requires much more in the way of clothing.  Socks, hats, gloves, even a scarf to cover my face as I ride in the dark (!) the 1.7 miles to masters swim.  Invigorating, yes, but some would question the foolishness of this endeavor.  Especially when the mercury hovers around freezing.

I’m trying not to give in to my inner wimp, because I know of other people who bike commute in the dark and cold through November.  However,  despite the uber-grooviness of my commuter bike and the fact that I am in fact saving my gas budget, the thought of driving a heated car listening to NPR is tempting.  Very tempting.
