In the ski industry, irreverence is not as common as one could assume, especially as resorts become part of larger corporate parents. The carefree, tongue- in-cheek mood has slowly disappeared at most ski resorts I’ve encountered, which I find sad. It’s recreation we’re talking about here, not global diplomacy.
So it’s with great amusement to find that let’s-not-take-ourselves- too-seriously attitude is alive and kicking at Mt Rose. While I missed the Elvis celebration, I’m going to dig through my closet to see if I have anything retro to wear this weekend.
